What to expect when you call

You can say as much or as little as you like, you can ask what things cost before you say anything about yourself, and you can hang up and think about it. The whole first call is laid out step by step on the Admissions page, so there are no surprises.

If you reach voicemail, leave only a name and a number, and someone will call you back. Please leave the health details for the conversation itself.

If you need help right now

Some help should not wait for a callback. Here is where to turn:

  • The 988 Lifeline. Call or text 988 at any hour. It is free and confidential, and in its own words it is there whether you are facing mental health struggles or emotional distress, or you just need someone to talk to.
  • Ventura County Behavioral Health Access/Crisis Line. Call 1-866-998-2243, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Your own doctor. A primary care doctor can start the conversation, rule out a physical cause, and refer you on.
  • Your health plan. The member services number on the back of your insurance card can give you a list of mental health providers that take your plan.
